Obituary for Annie Shearin
Annie “Cora” Shearin, 68 of 1117 South Person Street, Raleigh, North Carolina slipped quietly away at St. Francis Hospital on November 30, 2014 after a brief illness. She was residing in McKenney, VA with her sister Cassandra and her family. She was born on June 12, 1946 to the late Malvin and Verlie Shearin of Macon, North Carolina. After graduating from high school she attended Shaw University where she earned her B.A Degree in education.
She was baptized at an early age and joined the Pine Grove Baptist Church where she remained a member until her passing. While in Virginia she attended the New Witt Baptist Church, Farmville VA. She was retired from the Raleigh Housing Authority.
She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted sister, Cassandra Bland (Rev. Winston Bland) of McKenney Virginia, a nephew, Mic’hael Bland of Arizona, a niece, Quinette Bland of McKenney, VA, a great nephew, Aiden Bland of McKenney, VA, a host of cousins other relatives and friends among them, Deborah Smith of Louisburg, North Carolina, Hattie Clark of Raleigh, North Carolina, Lucille Warren and Lorenzo Warren of Garner, North Carolina and several employees of the Housing Authority of Raleigh, North Carolina.
