Lemond Chavell Rhodes, affectionately known as “Mond” was born on July 8, 1982 in Richmond, VA. He was the first born to Maxine “Pat” King and Earl Winfield. He departed this life on Saturday March 23, 2024 in Richmond, VA. Mond was preceded in death by his grandparents John and Maxine Rhodes, Herbert and Martha Winfield, the mother of his children Amanda Ahern and his 2 best friends who were like brothers, Daryl Gauldin and Matt Brown, and a host of family members.
Mond was educated by Dinwiddie County Public Schools. He was very friendly and had a smile that would light up a room. A quiet man he was also a jokester and an avid fan of the 49er’s.
Mond enjoyed being outside. He worked for M&W Construction and P.S. Roofing.
Mond leaves to cherish his memories his wife Denise Rhodes; 2 daughters Kendra & Kaylee Rhodes “the apple of his eyes”; 3 bonus children Damon Ahern, Max Mace and Clarice Mace; his devoted mother Maxine “Pat” King(Ricky); father Earl Winfield (Sylvia); 3 brothers Elmondo King (Marcella), James King, Jr. (Brittany),James Mason “Quan”; 1 sister Shatish Hardy (Steven). He was also a proud uncle of Christy, Kayla, Kourtney, Naomi, Giulia, and Cameron King; aunts Rebecca Richardson, Alice Rhodes, Dorothy Johnson, Vickie Ruffin, Carolyn Spencer, Patricia Roberts(Kenny), and Cynthia Holmes (Billy); uncles Albert Rhodes (Pam), and Lawrence Winfield and a host of cousins, friends and co-workers to include a devoted friend/cousin Cassondre Smith and father figures James King and Clinton Jones
