Lloyd Randolph Hawkins Jr, Age 60 of 7202 McKenney Highway, McKenney, Va., entered into eternal rest on November 27, 2020 in Paseo County, Florida.
Lloyd known to most as “Randy” was a Professional long Distance truck driver he was happiest when he was on the road traveling from state to state creating new adventures and memories. His final trip allowed him to meet destiny on his own terms doing what he loved.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his Father Lloyd Randolph Hawkins, Sr. and his wife Alice Nixon-Hawkins.
Lloyd attended Dinwiddie County Public Schools and was a 1978 Graduate, Immediately following graduation he joined the United States Navy and honorably served his country for 15 years. Upon his discharge from service he became fascinated with driving long distances. He really did enjoy being on the open highways with another love, classic Motown Sounds.
Lloyd is survived by his two daughters Melanie De Luna (Omar) of Emporia, Va. and Corvette O’Neal of Texas. One Son, Aaron Hawkins of Spanaway, Washington. His mother Alice Loretta Atkins of McKenney, Va. Six Sisters, Alice H. Scott (John) of Creedmoor, NC., Bonita Fitzgerald (Robert) of McKenney, Va., Patricia M. Winfield (Anthony) of Memphis, TN., Shanika Hawkins of New York, Katrina Hawkins of McKenney, Va., and Victoria Hawkins of Ohio. Two Brothers, Joshua Hawkins Hill (Sophia) of Pensacola, FL. And Michael Granderson of Greensboro, NC. He was blessed to have Eight Grandchildren and One Great Grandchild. Four Aunts Joan Williams of Long Island, NY., Rosa Jackson of Prince George, Va., Virginia Hawkins of McKenney, Va. And Betty Hawkins of Washington , DC. One Great -Aunt Annie P. Coleman of McKenney, Va. One Great-Uncle Herbert H. Smith of Vacaville, CA. A host of Nieces, Nephews and cousins whom he loved and they loved him in return. Cherished friends, Sgt. James Wakefield devoted to him and his family, Calvin Payne, Debby Haynes and Bobbie Crawford, Jr.
Services for Lloyd Randolph Hawkins will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021, 11:00 am at the Chapel of Bland Funeral Homes, 137 Harrison Street Petersburg, VA with the Rev. John Street, officiating.
