Obituary for Kendel Jones
Mr. Kendel "Kendo" Jones, 55 of 22204 Mckenney Hwy. Stony Creek, VA entered into eternal rest and peace on Sunday December 17, 2017 at his residence after a period of declining health. He was born in Dinwiddie County, VA on May 29, 1962 to the late Leroy and Herlene Graves Jones. Kendel attended Dinwiddie County Public School system and was a former employee at Brenco Bearings Inc. for 23 years. He was a member of Higher Way Ministries, Petersburg, VA. where he enjoyed attending service before his health declined. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Herlene Graves Jones and several aunts and uncles. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, a loving and devoted wife of 26 years, Sarah L. Jones; two devoted sons Kendrick C. Jones and Kendal (Raquan) Jones both of Stony Creek, VA; two brothers and one sister , Tyrone J. Jones (Seneca) of Petersburg, Dale E. Jones (Aaron) Jarratt, VA, Wendell L. Jones (Irene) of Stony Creek, VA; four grandchildren Jevontae Jones, Kamren Booker, Amira and Amire Crews; five aunts, Ann Barnes, Emma Griffin, Virginia King(Saul) and Shelia Graves(Franklin); three uncles Wayne Graves, Jerry Graves, and Ralph Graves (Gloria); Mother-in-law Barbara Phillips; three aunts by marriage, Betty Streat, Rosa Hall and Alice Crowder; uncle by marriage Freddie Taylor; devoted niece Tonya Meade (Giles); two nephews Tyrone A. Jones and Dondre Hill; one great nephew Jaylen Meade; brother-in-law James Phillips (Zanetta) and a host of cousins and friends including devoted friends & cousins James Creighton, Rose Marie Hall, James Branch, James King, Clint Mabry, and Freddie Taylor. Special thanks to Virginia Cancer Institute and the Petersburg Radiation Department. Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 23, 2017 at 11AM from the Higher way Ministries 515 Virginia Ave. Petersburg, VA 23803. The pastor Bishop Darren Gay will Officiate. Interment will be in the Winfield Family Cemetery, Stony Creek, VA. Viewing will be held on Friday December 22, 2017 from 12 noon to 8PM at the W. L.
