Obituary for Jackie Elaine Poe
Jackie Elaine Poe, 59, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 3:20 pm at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. She was born on December 13, 1956 in Washington, D.C. to Mary Frances and Howard Lee Poe. She was raised by her mother and step-father Charlie Jones Jr. in McKenney, VA.
Jackie grew up in the Washington, D. C area and later moved to Dinwiddie County. She graduated from Dinwiddie County High School in Dinwiddie, VA in 1975. She later attended Virginia Commonwealth University majoring in Business Administration. After college Jackie worked various retail jobs in management and was later employed by the Virginia Department of Social Services where she spent 31 years working as Lead Accounting Analyst in the Division of Finance.
Jackie was a devoted member of Mt. Gilead Full Gospel International Ministries in Richmond, VA for 11 years under the leadership of Bishop Daniel Robertson. She loved being a servant-leader in the ministries she was blessed to oversee. Her passion to help others and willingness to further the kingdom of God here on earth was her hearts desire.
Jackie is preceded in death by her grandmother Annie B. Gray; mother Mary Frances Jones; step-father Charlie Jones, Jr.; her brother Michael Young and her sister Carol Tucker.
She leaves everlasting memories to be cherished by her loving sisters Janice "Janie" Knight (George) of Chesterfield, VA; Felicia Jones of McKenney, VA. Three nieces Charis Tucker of Shenzhen, China; Courtney Tucker of Annapolis,Maryland and Geornica Daniels of Chesterfield, VA. Three nephews Devvin Jones of Everett, WA, Jonas Knight of Chesterfield, VA; Traci Shepperson of Chesterfield, VA and one great-nephew Jaden Daniels of Chesterfield, VA. One brother-in-law Charles "Billy" Tucker of Chesterfield, VA. Two loving cousins Harvey and Lucille Kinston of Arlington, VA. A host of devoted friends, co-workers and colleagues will miss her immensely, but we know God loved her best.
