Obituary for Alice Davis Johnson
God in His Infinite wisdom called home one of his angels Mrs. Alice Elizabeth Davis Johnson , on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at her daughters residence in Petersburg, Virginia at the age of 90. She was born on July 19, 1931 to the late Theodore and Nellie Davis. . At an early age Alice confessed Christ and joined the Shiloh Baptist Church, Darvills, Virginia. Alice was an avid tobacco worker and she also worked for Keller’s Manufacturing in McKenney, Virginia. Her great loves were to work in her yard and to make quilts for her family and friends which she did faithfully until her health began to decline. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Johnson; two sons, Leon Johnson and James Johnson; four sisters, Dorothy Davis, Lois Brown, Louise Page and Edna Davis; four brothers, Thomas Davis, Gordon Davis, Franklin Davis and Wilbert Davis; two nieces, Shirley Paige and Connie Dagner. Alice leaves to cherish her memory , two loving daughters , Alice L. Johnson , Ford, Virginia and Glory Johnson of Petersburg, Virginia; one step son Robert Johnson, White Plains, New Jersey; one brother Emmett Davis (Queen), Petersburg, Virginia; twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and four great-great Grandchildren; several nieces, three devoted, Barbara Freeman, Wendy Malone and Lozell Dickenson; several nephews and cousins, one devoted Sandra Williams; a daughter in-law Marlene Johnson, Richmond, Virginia and a host of other beloved family. Also cherishing her memory are her caregivers Patricia Mallory(Walter), Christine Johnson and Latoya Eldridge. The Family would like to give Special thanks to The James River Hospice for their services. Alice will be missed by her family, friends and the Baltimore Corner Community.
